1. Do you smell that in the air? It’s like the smell of fall, but with more of a jingle and a sparkle…a faint whiff of… Christmas! The Dartmouth Handcrafters Guild is hosting their 47th annual event, Christmas Craft Festival where a massive variety of crafts dazzle festival-goers. A fantastic opportunity for makers to gather and discuss all their crafty ideas, the festival livens up the Zatzman Sportsplex during the final weekend of October! The festival opens at noon on Friday, admission is $6 for the entire weekend, kids under 12 are FREE. Net proceeds are donated to local charities.
2. Cineplex Bayers Lake, Dartmouth Crossing & Lower Sackville are having the ultimate family friendly interactive Halloween celebrations! Dress up in your favourite costume and join Zoe and Justin as they sing and dance as you watch the Halloween musical The Great Big Boo! The Movie. Take a bag for trick-or-treating after the show. October 23, 24, 30, and 31. This is a non-scary Halloween celebration for kids.
3. The Bluenose Ghost Festival this weekend and next at Alderney Landing has something for everyone – from the super spooky Haunted House $10 to the crazy Creighton Crypt Ride $5. Thursday to Sunday evenings, 6:30 to 9:30.
4. Lastly, it’s all things burger, with over 146 restaurants serving up their original creations. Halifax Burger Week has a record number of restaurants that are presenting special burgers at special prices to raise money for Feed Nova Scotia while creating a burger eating frenzy in the process. Pack up the family and treat yourself to some great eats!
