This weekend is sprinkled with a little Christmas shopping, night time biking through the streets of the city, and the ever-loved Bluenose Marathon!
1. Get ready, set, go go go, and giv’er till ya quiver! It’s Bluenose Marathon weekend! The Doctors Nova Scotia Youth Run 2KM starts at 10 and 4KM at 10:15 on Sackville Street near Queen Street . After the race, don’t stop running till you get to the Atlantic Superstore Celebration Zoneat Grand Parade!
2. It’s Christmas at the Forum, a holiday tradition since 1978! A festival of crafts, antiques, art, and food, and a photobooth! The entire craft show, affectionately known as “The Big One,” has been warming the hearts of thousands of visitors for 42 years! The craft fair runs all weekend, so there’s lots of time to pick a day to visit. Doors open at 10, stays open till 9 on Friday and Saturday, till 5 on Sunday. Entry fee is $10 for adults, kids under 12 are FREE.
3. Join The Mom Markets of Nova Scotia for a night celebrating the Holiday Season by shopping local this Saturday night at the Halifax Brewery Market, Lower Water St. Featuring many local vendors, live music, swag bags, and more, Christmas Lights and Winter Nights is sure to be a hit!
4. I Light HFX! Join Cyclesmith Halifax this Saturday at 5 for a community bike ride around the city to raise awareness about being visible while cycling at night. Light up your bike and ride with us!The purpose of the I Light HFX campaign is to raise awareness and create a sense of community visibility about cycling after dark. The community ride is a fun way to encourage people of all ages and abilities to get creative with lighting up their bikes as bright as possible and riding together through our city. Tickets for Halifax Cycling Coalition are $25 for $30 for non-members and kids 12 and under are FREE. All proceeds go to I Light HFX.
