We’ve missed you!

Urban Parent is happy to give you the goods on the weekend! It’s been a hot minute, but we’re still thinking of all of you, so rev your engines, take a road trip or two and be sure to stop and smell daffodils!

1. Enjoy affordable family fun with some of the fastest cars around – right through to September. Get ready to rev your engines…CARSTAR Weekly Racing Series is back at Scotia Speedworld! The CARSTAR Weekly Racing Series, which runs from May through September, kicked off this year on May 22nd. From then on, it’s four different classes of race cars every Friday night! Adults $20, Youth (8-15) $5, Kids 7 & Under are FREE!

2. Nothing speaks summer more than the Valley’s Apple Blossom Festival, right? This year celebrates their 88th year! It’s a jam-packed weekend, full of family fun including parades, fireworks, rides, movies, crafts, games and of course the children’s parade! 3. Let the kids run free and enjoy the great outdoors this Saturday, 9am, at the Daffodil Walk at Ashton’s Garden Centre in Tatamagouche. Enjoy magical signs along the walk, a free scavenger hunt and colouring sheet they’re sure to have fun! Plus Vana will be joining us with her beautiful Angora Bunnies! Don’t miss award-winning author Michelle Robinson who will be on-site for her book readings which include favourites such as, ‘When Jelly Had a Wobble’, ‘When Cucumber Lost his Cool’, ‘The Day Banana Went Bad’ and ‘Isabelle and the Crooks’!

4. Have you ever been to a Hatch-Day Party? It’s been three years since Merlin the Macaw’s has celebrated his hatch day! He will be 20 this year and is inviting you all to his party! It also happens to be the Maritime Museum’s 40th anniversary at their current location, so this special occasion will be a memorable one you won’t want to miss! Visitors 5 and under are FREE!
