There’s a ton of family fun to choose from this weekend, free movies, dazzling festivals and a few craft markets!
1. Cineplex Bayers Lake and Dartmouth Crossing are having the ultimate family friendly interactive Halloween celebrations! Dress up in your favourite costume and join Zoe and Justin as they sing and dance as you watch the Halloween musical The Great Big Boo! The Movie. Take a bag for trick-or-treating after the show. October 22, 23, 29, and 30. This is a non-scary Halloween celebration for kids.
2. The Diwali Carnival Gala Night, “festival of lights,” Invites the community to join them at the Halifax Exhibition Centre this Saturday night promising fun, frolic, gaiety, and excitement for your entire family. Promoting the best of their culture and traditions with this most popular and dazzling festival! Tickets are $27 and you can order them here.
3. Life Branch Church, on 10 Lancaster Dr in Dartmouth is hosting a FREE family Halloween movie night at 6pm, Friday. Free popcorn and refreshments will be provided and everyone is welcome!
4. Prospect Road Crafter’s Market – The 11th Annual Prospect Road Crafters’ Market is returning to the Prospect Road Community Centre on October 19th with a fantastic variety of crafters! The annual market offers FREE admission, FREE parking, live music, a fabulous door prize, a luncheon, barbecue – fun for the whole family. Join in over 100 crafters for their annual sale and kick off to the Christmas season! Saturday, 10-4 at the Prospect Road Community Centre.
5. Do you smell that in the air? It’s like the smell of fall, but with more of a jingle and a sparkle…a faint whiff of…Christmas! The Dartmouth Handcrafters Guild is hosting their annual event, Christmas Craft Festival where a massive variety of crafts dazzle festival-goers. A fantastic opportunity for makers to gather and discuss all their crafty ideas. The festival opens at noon on Friday, admission is $6 for the entire weekend, kids under 12 are FREE. Net proceeds are donated to local charities.
