This crispier weather is turning our collective cranks making it a perfect occasion to play, party, and see where your produce comes from!

1. Play with colours and dance with music at the 5th annual Halifax Colour Festival this Saturday from 1-4 at Alderney Landing. This event is Free, open for everyone, and all ages are welcome, so bring your family and friends. There is face painting, balloon artists, bouncy castles, beverage vendors, and games like “Tug of War” and “Beat the Beans.” Use your skills to be on winning side and take home prizes!

2. It’s the 15th annual Symphony Week and Symphony Nova Scotia is offering free, online, and live performances that will include everything from children’s music to orchestral concerts featuring the entire Symphony. Slip on over to their website and check the schedule for events like Classical Munchkins, an interactive, fun, and free program for preschoolers which offers up close and personal learning with professional musicians! Symphony Nova Scotia has partnered with various Halifax libraries to introduce three- to five-year-olds to music and motion in a fun and comfortable environment.

3. Halifax Open Street is back and bigger than ever. Come take over Agricola, Argyle, and Spring Garden this Sunday from 12-4. There will be lots do across the city with food trucks, music, games and family-friendly activities.

4. Open Farm Day is a province-wide event! This Sunday, September 18, participating Nova Scotia farmers will open their doors to members of their community, giving you a backstage pass to meet your farmer, and really see where your food comes from. A great family opportunity to check out the farms, ask questions, share stories and have fun!
