It’s a mystical moonin’, birthday lovin’, road trippin’ and India Festin’ kind of weekend!

1. India Fest is back at the Forum this weekend! Get to the Multipurpose room to immerse yourself into the rich and diverse culture of India with Henna tattoos, product vendors, activities and of course the amazing food, all brought to you by the India Festivals Club of Nova Scotia (IFCNS) Your taste buds will be hopping with authentic tastes from both the North & South of India. Be sure to try something new, maybe a mango lassi? Admission is $3 and the festival opens at 11 on Friday. See you there!

2. Happy Birthday Gus! Everyone’s favourite tortoise is turning 100 and you’re invited to the celebration on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. Head to the Museum of Natural History for a scavenger hunt, turtle crafts, activities, and more! The party starts at 11 and is included in admission price.

3. Also at the Forum this weekend, over in the Maritime Hall, the Mystic Moon Faire. Mystical and magical vendors, crystals, tarot readings, handcrafts and more. Admission is pay what you can at the door and all proceeds will go to PANS (the Pagan Society of Nova Scotia if you didn’t know we had one)! This year’s sponsor is The Amethyst Boutique in Dartmouth. 

4. Feelin’ a drive to the Farmers’ Market at Hubbards Barn? Almost an hour away from downtown Halifax, take Exit 6 on Highway 103 to Hubbards. A small (but mighty!) band of Barn volunteers have been hard at work to coordinate farmers and customers as well as cooks and crafters through the 2022 season. Open 8-12 every Saturday until October 29. Plus, being at the market not only puts you in walking proximity to the delightfully shady Aspotogan/St. Margeret’s Bay Rails to Trail but is a quick drive away from the spectacularly sunny Fox Point Beach, Queensland Beach, and more beautiful beaches in the area.
