- This Weekend Wrap-Up’s Roadtrip Recommendation sends you to The Ovens Natural Park in Riverport on the South Shore for their Knotty by Nature Music Festival. Adult admission to the concert is $25, kids 12 and under are $10. They’ve got a restaurant on site, and camping and other accommodations—but you must act fast to get a spot to sleep over. Get there well ahead of time to check out the ‘Thunder Cave’ and other amazing sea caves!
- Join the Italian Canadian Cultural Association of Nova Scotia (ICCA) for their annual three-day festival of Italian food, music, and entertainment! Face painting, activities and games for children abound! Starting this weekend at Friday 5-10pm, Saturday 11am-10pm and ending Sunday 11am-8pm at 2629 Agricola St. It’ll be fantastico!
- It’s the 3rd Annual Colour Festival! This event represents one of the major festivals of India, known as HOLI. The core values of the festival are to spread love and joy with all, putting aside religion and nationality. Join everyone this weekend on Sunday from 11-4 at the Studley Quad Dalhousie University for some great colour mash-ups and awesome family friendly events including a tug-of-war! Admission starts at $20, children under 5 are free but please register for the Halifax Colour Festival through eventbrite.
- This Saturday is the Kermesse Fun Fair put on by the great folks at the IWK. Starting at 10 and going until 3, the day’s activities will include a teddy bear clinic, petting zoo, bouncy castle, entertainers, train, carnival games, food, crafts, raffles and a silent auction. Admission is free and all are welcome!
