Happy Holidays are Here in HRM!

1. The Diwali Carnival, “festival of lights”, at the Halifax Forum will light up this weekend! Beginning on Friday at 3 and carrying on through Sunday, the Hindu New Year brings rich Indian culture, food, art, music, dances, henna, fashion and fireworks to be enjoyed by young and old alike.

2. Saturday brings you Your Very Happy Holiday Party at the Pondside Amphitheatre in The Village Shops at Dartmouth Crossing! Enjoy a magical visit with Santa, giveaways, games, cake, hot beverages from Tim Hortons, a petting zoo, and rides on the North Pole Express train! The party starts at 11 and runs till 4!

3. Up for a road trip? Check out the 29th Annual Seaside Christmas this weekend on Nova Scotia’s beautiful Eastern Shore! Follow the coastline and you will find the perfect gems for all the special people on your list when you visit the dozens of crafters, carvers, bakers, and makers! All weekend long, let the numbered wreaths guide you along the Eastern Shore to discover antiques, unique shops, and cafés. Fill out a ballot at each stop along the way for a chance to win a cash prize! The more stops you visit, the greater your chance of winning!

4. Urban Parent loves the Chronicle Herald Holiday Parade of Lights and the 4th Annual Red Nose Run! Bring the family out this Saturday, November 17 at 6 to kick off the holiday season with festive floats, marching bands, dancers, and a visit from Santa Claus! Ho! Ho! Ho!

5. Meet up at Dewolf Park this Sunday at 5:45 for the Light Up Bedford Parade! This special tradition for many families in Bedford and surrounding communities brings the community together for a festive evening to jumpstart the holidays and raise money for a charitable organization in HRM!
