- Nimble-footed dancers are stepping lively in the Scotiabank Centre this weekend! Don’t miss your chance to see the international Irish dance phenomenon, Riverdance, Friday at 7:30, Saturday at 2 and 7:30, and Sunday at 1 and 6:30.
- Overwhelmed by the prospect of selecting a preschool? Why not take Halifax’s oldest preschool, Halifax Early Childhood School (HECS) for a test play? Swing by their open house with your wee one(s) on Sunday at 2:30 to see why parents give the place such high praise and the coordinating director is winning a national award. HECS offers a half-day preschool program for children aged 2-5 years old.
- Get Downtown Dartmouth for a Picnic in the Park this Friday! At the free event at Ferry Terminal Park expect to find hundreds of people gathering for a magical evening of food, culture, and celebration. BYOPicnic or order some takeout from a close-by restaurant and dine on your blanket surrounded by trees decorated with twinkly lights. The Downtown Dartmouth Business Commission will provide the activities: fishing, crafting, bouncing, a May pole dance demo, and more!
- On Saturday at 1 and 7 and Sunday Sunday Sunday at 1, it’s Monster Jam! Whether it’s your first or 21st time seeing Gravedigger, you’re sure to hear the massive vehicle’s entrance announced in a deep gravelly voice! Tickets start at $15 and guarantee families the most action-packed experience on four wheels they’ve ever had! Pit parties, happening at 10:30 before the matinee Monstrosity on Saturday and Sunday (Sunday Sunday), give fans the opportunity to see the trucks up close and personally.
- This Weekend Wrap-Up’s road trip-worthy recommendation is White Point Resort’s 3rd Annual Kid’s Fishing Derby. If you’re not far from the Liverpool area, daytrip over there, or make it a weekend vacation at the resort. Either way, catch some fish along the shoreline of Five Rivers! From Halifax, it takes less than two hours to get to White Point. Registration for the derby is Free and starts at 8am at the Boat House.
