What do The Dingle, Peter Rabbit, hockey cards, and Mount Saint Vincent University have in common? They all have something special going on this weekend!
- Join the Adventure Earth Centre for the first annual Winter Fest in Sir Sandford Fleming Park, aka The Dingle, on Saturday from 1-4. Enjoy free activities for children, youth, and adults. It will be a fun afternoon even if there is not much snow for snowshoeing and sculpting, AEC has a parachute and facepainters! If you’re driving, they ask that you please park in the lot at the bottom of Dingle Rd by the old canteen. Wild storm date is the following day (Sunday the 4th) same time, same place.
- If there’s anything better than one Beatrix Potter tale, it’s two! Beatrix Potter: Two Tales Dancing presented by the Maritime Conservatory of Performing Arts gives you Peter Rabbit and raises you a Jemima Puddle-Duck this Sunday at 1 and 4 at the Spatz Theatre. Children of all ages and the young at heart will be thrilled to see the tales performed as a narrated classical ballet featuring no less than 35 dancers! General admission is $20.
- Time to get all geared up for this weekend because Saturday is National Hockey Card Day! Who knew? DM Sports in Bayers Lake did, and they are giving away packs of Upper Deck hockey cards all day long because of it. Just drop in between 10 and 6 on Saturday, wish the fine folks there a happy National Hockey Card Day, and join in on the activities at this fun family friendly in-store event.
- Sunday afternoon, from 1-4, The Fountain Play Centre at Mount Saint Vincent University presents the 17th Annual Kids Carnival in the Rosaria Student Centre Multi-Purpose Room. The carnival is open to MSVU students, alumni, the community and their families, so come on community, get on up to the Mount campus and enjoy bouncy castles, mermaids, balloons, music, and games! Admission for kids two years and older is only $3.
