1. Shubenacadie Wildlife Park is lighting up the night just for you on Friday at 6 and its FREE! Start at the Wetland Centre to get your face painted and a enjoy a warm drink. Then at 6:30pm, gather as they light up a big beautiful tree before taking a lighted stroll to visit the animals to the beat of holiday music. Bring a flashlight and a sense of adventure… Santa will be here to greet everyone too!
2. This is a holiday treat for the whole family that will be sure to put you in the Christmas spirit. This year’s Celtic Christmas Show features the RCMP Pipes and Drums and dancers, the Diaga Irish Dancers, Acadian Step dancers, Scaip na Cleiti dancers, a band led by Shannon Quinn, and more. Step out this Friday night at 7:30 for an evening of tradition, culture, and celebration at the 2018 Celtic Christmas Show at Alderney Landing Theatre. Tickets for adults are $35 and children are $25.
3. Looking for the perfect occasion to visit the Canadian Museum of Immigration at Pier 21? ’Tis the season! The museum’s Winter Family Fun Day lands on Saturday December 15 and a special tour and activities run from 10-2. The tour is a magical opportunity to explore the unique perspectives of nearly 1 million young immigrants who came through Pier 21—true stories through the eyes of children. But wait, there’s more! Join in on winter activities, art making, film screenings, and snacks.
Winter Family Fun Day: Pier through the Eyes of a Child tour and activity day is included in the cost of admission to the Museum. Adults $12.61, big kids $9.04, not as big kids (5 and under) FREE, family rate (2 adults/3 children) $30.
4. Symphony Nova Scotia’s The Nutcracker is Halifax’s favourite holiday tradition! When a young girl’s toy comes to life, she’s whisked away to an enchanted world where she meets magical creatures, colourful new friends, and the ferocious Mouse Queen. Complete with larger-than-life puppets, spirited dancing, and Tchaikovsky’s hauntingly beautiful music, this tale of magic and wonder is a delightful holiday adventure for all ages. Tickets start at $14 for young ones and $27 for adults.
