Get all wrapped up in Easter with egg hunts, crafts, and bunny-lovin’ fun! Yep, this Weekend Wrap-Up is all Easter, all FREE (or by donation), and we promise, Urban Parent found the best events on the go for you and your family. This is a quick and dirty guide to weekend Easter fun, so dress for a mess if you’re going outside!
- Here’s one for the little ones. A Halifax Public Library Preschool Egg Hunt for ages 0-5. At Keshen Goodman Public Library in Lacewood, let them hunt for the eggs, trade them in for prizes, and make a craft on Saturday at 10. - Head on down with the fam to Lower Ship Harbour’ The Deanery for egg decorating with natural dyes, an egg and chocolate hunt, and a visit from a special guest! Fun for the entire family on Saturday starts at 10, ends at 12. Bring your own picnic lunch or try out some delicious Deanery fare ($6 for lunch). Please bring treats to share for the egg hunt. These will be gathered on arrival and hidden by volunteers while egg decorating is taking place. After the hunt all the treats will be gathered together and shared among the children. Admission is by donation, register on Eventbrite or by calling 902-845-1888.
- Downtown Dartmouth Easter all ages free fun! After the hunting, make the most of the weekend by crafting at The Trainyard General Store on Portland Street. Kind Krafts volunteers are coming out to make cards with kids from 11-2 on Saturday.
- Anchor City Church in Bedford is hosting their annual Free Egg Hunt on Friday from 2-4. Last year almost 300 kids participated! Preregister to skip the line. At Bedford’s biggest Egg Hunt, find plastic coloured eggs and win prizes! There will be games and face painting in the St. John Anglican Church after the great search. If the weather is too messy, they have a contingency plan…the hunt moves inside!
