Prep for warmer days, take in a movie, put on your skates and celebrate a little! This weekend has something for every family!
1. Hey boating fans… forget about the icy waters of winter and start prepping for summer at the Halifax International Boat Show at the Halifax Exhibition Centre, on Thursday through Sunday.You’ll be able to see, touch and even climb aboard tons of boats of all shapes and sizes while you fantasize about warmer days on the water. Adults are $12, kids 12 and under are FREE.
2. Take the kids to a screening of Disney’s Strange World, an exciting animated adventure film, Friday at 6, at Life Branch Church, 10 Lancaster Dr, Dartmouth. Admission is free, drinks are $1, and popcorn is $2. All funds raised go towards the Food Bank.
3. In celebration of African Heritage Month you’re invited to Alderney Gate Public Library, Sat from 1-2:30, for a fun-filled interactive afternoon of percussion demos for all ages! Bring your own drum and play along if you like with Dr. Henry Bishop and the Roots of Rhythm.
4. Lace up those skates! Every winter, the Emera Oval transforms into the largest outdoor, artificially refrigerated ice surface east of Quebec City equivalent to the size of three NHL hockey rinks.
