Rev your engines, head to the waterfront for live music, shop the farmers market, or spend some time plating some trees… This weekend has something for everyone!
1 – Vroom! Vroooooom! Get ready to rev your engines at Scotia Speedworld’s CARSTAR Weekly Racing Series every Friday night. Enjoy affordable family fun with some of the fastest cars around – right through to September. Fans will be treated to racing from all divisions, thats four different classes of race cars every Friday night. Tickets for adults are $20, Youth (8-15) $5 and kids under 7 get in FREE!
2 – The Ferry Terminal Park on the Dartmouth Waterfront is on our list of to-dos this weekend! The park is hosting the Dartmouth Summer Sunshine Concert Series and it’s FREE! The summer stage will be packed with incredible Canadian talent throughout the summer from Thursday to Sunday. For official lineups and any cancellations due to weather check the event page.
3 – Join Plastic Oceans Canada on Saturday, 11-1, for a spectacular afternoon at the Cole Harbour Heritage Park, celebrating the first annual Trees & Seas! Spend the afternoon planting trees, learning about the importance of preserving our environment and then stick around for barbecue! The park is located at 256 Bissett Road, Cole Harbour. 4 – Add a trip to the market to your weekend and load the fridge and pantry with local produce. Stop by the Farmers Market at The Halifax Forum! Open 8-1 every Saturday in the Bingo Hall annex, with plenty of tables offering fresh local produce, eggs, meats, fish, crafts, plants and herbs, prepared food, wine, beer, cider, coffee, and tons of other stuff! There’s free admission and parking too.
