1. Take a walk with 98-year-old Gus the Tortoise! He lives at the Museum of Natural History at 1747 Summer Street in Halifax. For the months of July and August admission to the Museum is FREE, and you can join Gus for a walk every day at 3 – subject to how the old gopher tortoise is feeling, walks may be postponed or cancelled.
2. Sweet sounds will be coming from Acadia Park this Sunday night during for their FREE Sackville Summer Concert Series! Enjoy local talent in the park every Sunday evening starting July 18 until August 29 from 7-8. Gates open at 6:30 and it is first come, first serve. Bring a chair or blanket. 3. Head to the Halifax waterfront for 3 days of Music & Magic featuring top Nova Scotian musicians and amazing magicians. You and your family will find all kinds of fun at the Salt Yard Too Stage, (end of Salter Street). Catch a show on Saturday, Sunday, or Monday afternoon. And as a magical bonus, just down the boardwalk, East Coast Amusements’ midway will be on the waterfront from Wednesday until Monday!
4. Grand Parade is hosting the FREE Patio Lanterns Festival this weekend and into the fall (pending things go well of course)! Hang out with family and friends to enjoy the sights and sounds of live music, dance and art all in Grand Parade, outside City Hall in Halifax. This is the Halifax Main stage for the festival! With over 100 artists, the festival will run Thursday – Sunday every week for 14 weeks. Official lineups are announced weekly, so stay tuned!
