Weekend Wrap, June 8 – 10, 2018

The weather is warmer, the sun is shining, let’s get outside! Stroll with a tortoise, ride a bike, run for nature, and walk the dog.

1.  Did you know that you can take a stroll with Gus the Tortoise? Gus is taken for a public walk every Wednesday, Thursday and Friday at 3:30 from the Museum of Natural History! You may even get to feed him lunch! Walks with Gus are included in Museum admission. Family passes start at $12.50.

2.  Not your typical drive-in movie but it is sure to provide plenty of family fun! Ride your bike on over to the Halifax Common on Saturday, bring a blanket, snuggle up under the stars, and watch the animated comedy film “The Triplets of Belleville!” The movie starts at dusk, approximately 8.

3. Run, run, run for nature! Nova Scotia’s very first Kids’ Run for Nature is scheduled for June 10, 9:30 at Shubie Park. Adults are encouraged to register and run with the kiddos! Registration is $12.50, and everyone will receive a Kids’ Run for Nature tee too!!

4.  If it’s hounds, terriers, and mutts the kids love, then walk them over to the Dartmouth Sportsplex for Doggie Expo 2018 on Sunday! The event goes from 10-4 and only $5 admission gets you access to so many vendors with deals on everything canine from doggie wear to health care, there will be prizes, AND if you have a dog of any breed and it is nice and uses a leash, it is welcome come along!
