Weekend Wrap-Up Sept 6-8th

This weekend is sure to be on the Fringe, be full of Colour, and involve a Sea Shepherd and a trombone.

1. The Fringe Festival is back!! Fringe is the largest theatre festival in Atlantic Canada and with a number of all-ages/family-friendly performances to choose from, it’s a great way for your family to experience theatre in the city! May we suggest checking out “Stick or Wizard” at Neptune Imperial Theatre at various times, “Mind Games: Hypnosis, Hallucinations & Hi-jinx” on Tuesday at 6:45 at the Bus Stop Theatre, or “El Diablo of the Cards” at the Old Company Theatre at various times.

2. It’s the 5th annual Halifax Colour Festival! Play with colours and dance with music this Saturday at the Halifax Commons. This event is for open for everyone and all ages are welcome, so bring your family and friends. There is face painting, balloon artists, bouncy castles, beverage vendors, and games like “Tug of War” and “Beat the Beans.” Use your skills to be on winning side and take home prizes. 3. Join the Sea Shepherd Conservation Society’s Halifax Chapter for an end of summer clean-up Crystal Crescent Beach Saturday noon-4! All are welcome to lend a hand in picking up litter along shorelines/road/paths in this beautiful area. Garbage bags are provided, but folks are encouraged to bring their own reusable buckets/gloves/tools. Sea Shepherds direct action campaigns are working globally around the clock to safeguard our oceans locally and beyond.

4. We’re running out of weekends to check out the Public Gardens Summer Concert Series. All concerts will take place at the Bandstand from 2-4 on Sunday. Stop by and enjoy the flowers, the music, and perhaps even some dancing or an ice cream. This Sunday’s session features The Halifax Trombone Summit!
