Weekend Wrap-Up: Sept 2-5

This is it! This is the last weekend of summer and it’s a looooooooong one. What will you be doing this weekend? Will you spend it outside in the park soaking up as many rays as you can before the sun disappears from us? Will you be enjoying a festival? Perhaps spending a little time in the local library celebrating the performing arts? Or maybe at the farm? Taking in a show? It doesn’t matter, as long as you are doing something and you are doing it together because once it’s ‘business as usual’, will escape us!

  1. It’s FRINGE time and to celebrate the performing arts this year with the little ones, Central Library is hosting a few events this Saturday starting at 10:30am. Kids ages 4-12 can act out their favourite story, continue the story past the last chapter with improv or learn to write their own play. This Saturday in Paul O’Regan Hall at Central Library down on Spring Garden.
  2. Is it outdoor adventure you seek? Noggins has the remedy. Their gigantic cornfield maze is open this weekend 10am-7pm. Located in the Annapolis Valley on Hwy #1 in Greenwich just outside of Wolfville. They have a large outdoor play area with a HUGE farmers market that has just opened.
  3. Maybe you want that outdoor fun but, you don’t want to go that far and if that’s the case, head over to Hatfield Farms for the Family Round-Up between 11am-1pm. $13.99/person and all you can eat hot dogs and all you can drink tea and coffee make for a great two hours out at the ‘farm’
  4. I think there is a theme this weekend…how about…you want to spend time at the farm but, you want to do it 1800’s style! This weekend at Ross Farm can provide that action! Saturday and Sunday from 9am-5pm come and milk cows, help with blacksmithing or pull the taffy. Candle dipping anyone? Yes please! Try your hand at wood punching. Don’t forget to visit Ross Farm this weekend in New Ross on hi-way 12.
