Weekend Wrap-Up, Sept 13, 2019

CatFest, street parties, books and farms! This weekend is packed with tons of family friendly fun!

1. Another exciting event this weekend at Halifax’s Natural History Museum – this Saturday and Sunday, Cat Fest 2019 pounces into the Museum! From 10 to 4, celebrate International Cat Day. You are encouraged to wear costumes. Cat Fest is included in regular Museum admission.

2. Wrap up the summer in a big way with a Gottingen Street Festival! There will be DJs, food trucks, local artisans, markets and an all-around good time! The fest starts at 6 and runs till 11. Gather the flock and check it out for a fun Saturday evening!

3. Open Farm Day is a province wide event! This Sunday, September 15, participating Nova Scotia farmers will open their doors to members of their community, giving you a backstage pass to meet your farmer, and really see where your food comes from! A great family opportunity to check out the farms, ask questions, share stories and have fun!

4.  Word on the Street is that WORD ON THE STREET Festival is this Saturday at the Halifax City Public Library! It’s a ‘literary theme park’ of  activities including readings, discussions, workshops, books and more books! It’s the largest free literacy event in Nova Scotia, open to everyone, and has something for all ages. Doors open at 10!
