1. It’s party time! Join in the fun at the Faith Tabernacle Church block party celebrating their 90th anniversary! There will be two bouncy castles, FREE food, popcorn machines, cotton candy, face painting, music, and games for kids! All are welcome. Saturday, 6-8 at 6225 Summit St. in Halifax.
2. How about a Saturday night of fun with Glow in the Park at the Dingle? It’s a free walk/run for the whole family! Participants can choose to do one or two loops of the 1.5 km route, or just enjoy our other activities. Activities along the run/walk route include a dance zone, camp fire zone, and color powder zone. You can test your skills with an obstacle course, face painting, glow powder station, blacklight photo bomb tent, night fever dance floor with DJ, and a fireworks show to end the night! Glow gear for the first 250 participants! Event is free (no registration necessary). Visit www.halifax.ca/recreation/events/glow-park for more info!
3. For the braver—and perhaps older—kids, take them to the Haunted Hollow of Hammonds Plains. It’s a hike through the woods and it costs $15 per person (get $2 off on their website) or $50 for family of 4. It’s open on Friday and Saturday night, they start selling tickets at 6:30, and pro tip: Fridays are your better bet for a shorter line! Go to 1561 Hammonds Plains Road to get seriously freaked out.
4. Head to the Fall Fair for the IWK this Saturday! Starting noon at the Chicken Burger in Bedford, the day will be filled with bouncy castles, games, face painting, prizes, treats and more! Bracelets are $10 and proceeds from the event go to the IWK Foundation.
