It’s all about FREE events for the kids this weekend!
1. The Christmas Craft Village starts Friday at noon and has over 150 exhibitors with a little something for everyone! It’s three days of fun with great local food and handmade goods. Admission covers your family for the entire weekend. Adults are $10, students and seniors get in for $9, and kids 12 and under are FREE! You’ll also get admission to The Guy Show! Join in on the fun at the Halifax Exhibition Centre!
2. Bring the kiddos (aged 5-12 years) to the Home Depot Workshop for Kids—a FREE kids workshop this Saturday! Each month there is a new project for the young ones to create, using wood, hammers, and glue. Check the Home Depot site to find out each month’s project. First-timers will receive a kid-sized Home Depot apron, and each time they go, she or he will receive a pin saying which workshop they completed. Don’t forget to resister online!
3. Science, technology, engineering, and mathematics—aka STEM—are taking over Halifax for STEMFest 2018! From November 3-10, a variety of events and workshops for kids and adults will be going on, many of which are FREE and open to the public. This weekend, cheer on your favourite team at the Engineering Olympics (open to students in grades 4-9) at Halifax Convention Centre from 1-5 on Saturday.
4. Don’t forget the Remembrance Day 21-Gun Salute from the Halifax Citadel saluting battery on Sunday following the traditional noon gun blast. The Army Museum at the Citadel feature exhibit is “The Road to Vimy and Beyond” commemorating the Great War. This meaningful way to spend this important day is FREE of charge.
