It’s a pumpkin smashing, craft fairing, get outdoors kind of weekend!
1. Pumpkin smashing, hot cider drinking, feasting, and dancing! Common Roots Urban Farm is hosting this Annual Pumpkin Smash this Saturday at 1 on Robie St. at the Willow Tree! There’s pizza from Freeman’s, cookies and hot drinks, music, a silent auction, a scavenger hunt, and lots more for your friends and family to enjoy! And great news, this friendly fall gathering is FREE.
2. Christmas At the Halifax Forum has been warming the hearts of thousands of visitors for over 35 years! It’s earned its quality reputation for presenting the largest, most diverse selection of quality crafts and art in the region, and for creating a joyous and festive atmosphere! The craft fair runs all weekend, from Friday to Sunday so there’s lots of time to pick a day to visit. Saturday admission is 2 for 1, Friday and Sunday, tickets are $9 for adults, $8 for students and seniors, and kids 12 and under are FREE.
3. Get some fresh air and participate in the FIFTH Annual Light Up the Lake in Dartmouth November 3rd! This fun-filled evening 5K run/walk starts at the Mic Mac Aquatic Club and is an out and back route along beautiful Lake Banook. Headlamps, hot chocolate, and medals for all! There is even a FIREWORKS finale!! A great event for any ability and any age. Show up early at the Mic Mac Aquatic Club, the run starts at 6:30. Register through the Running Room as an individual, team, or family!
4. Autumn colours? Refreshing hike in the natural, rugged landscape of the future Halifax Wilderness Park? YES, please! The Nature Conservancy of Canada staff will guide you on a 5-6 km hiking tour through the undiscovered trails of Colpitt Lake! Discover the richness of 379 acres of wilderness and what this park will mean for the lives of Haligonians! All participants must register to join the hike—exact details of meeting point and times will be provided upon registration.
