Forget about the ABCs, this weekend’s fun is brought to you by the letters D, E, F, G, and H!
1. D and E are for Doggie Expo. If it’s hounds, terriers, and mutts the kids love, then walk them over to the Dartmouth RBC Centre for Doggie Expo 2019 on Sunday! The event goes from 10-4 and only $5 admission gets you access to so many vendors with deals on everything canine from doggie wear to health care, there will be prizes, AND if you have a dog of any breed and it is nice and uses a leash, it is welcome come along!
2. F is for Fibre. FREE admission to a family-friendly event in Cole harbour! Get ready for the second annual Cole Harbour Fibre Frolic. Vendors will be at the Cole Harbour Heritage Farm Museum on Saturday from 10-3 and will show off everything that can be done with fibre—demonstrations will include spinning, weaving, felting, and knitting!
3. OPA! G is for Greek! The oldest and largest cultural festival in Halifax, Greek Fest, is on! Join in this weekend for a taste of Greece at St. George’s Greek Orthodox Church and Community Centre on 1146 Purcells Cove Road. Enjoy delicious food, be entertained by Greek music and dance, take free language classes, kid’s activities, a Byzantine Church tour, and more! Tickets are $5 per day or $8 for a weekend pass. Free for 65+ and kids 10 and under. It runs Thursday to Sunday, and on Thursday, Greek Fest is totally FREE for everyone!
4. H is for the 2nd most Halifax-y word of them all… Hydrostone! There’s nothing like a good ol’ neighbourhood gathering and sale, so head there this Saturday for a festive, multi-street yard sale, The Hydrostone Haul! If you live in the neighbourhood, here’s your chance to clean out your closets and basements. Yes, it is FREE to participate! Sale starts at 8:30!
