1. Celebrate NBS Sharing Dance Day! Dance tells stories, shares culture, and brings people together through creative movement. Canada’s National Ballet School is celebrating! Join them for free on Saturday, 2-4, Paul O’Regan Hall at Halifax Central Library. Everyone is invited to experience the transformative power of dance. Led by the ballet school’s artistic staff, two Canadian choreographers, Esie Mensah and Philippe-Alexandre Jacques, collaborated to create a piece of choreography that explores how our familial, cultural and, community roots influence our identity.
2. The World Wildlife Fund Canada’s Kids’ Run For Nature is coming to Dartmouth on Saturday! Lace up your sneakers for a 1km, 3km, or 5km fun run! #KidsRunForNature is a national movement that gives kids the chance to get active in nature and raise funds for the conservation of wildlife. Meet on Saturday at 54 Locks Rd. in Dartmouth at 9:30 for check-in and registration. There’s a $15 entry-fee and you can sign up here.
3. 10,000 Carrots Rabbit Rescue is pleased to host the 2nd Annual Bunfest this Saturday at 10! Enjoy a fun filled day of bunnies at the Weir Rec Hall at 2476 Sackville Drive in Upper Sackville! There’s a silent auction, craft table, photo booth, café, and a nail trim booth for your furry friends! There will be info on the adorable rabbits who have been rescued by 10,000 Carrots and who are looking for a loving forever home if you have interest in adopting. Tickets for Bunfest are $5.00 with proceeds to help rescue rabbits, educate the public about their care, and decrease the number abandoned each year.
4. The Tantallon Village Farmers’ Market and NS Food Truck Association has teamed up to bring you the Father’s Day Food Truck Rally! Take a ride Sunday, 2-4, with the kids to 16 Sonnys Road in Upper Tantallon to enjoy an afternoon of fantastic eats and entertainment! Nomad Gourmet, Sweet Ideas, Roll on Two Chimney Cakes, Smokinstein, Shree Curry, Gecko, Fire n Knives, and Curry Express are a few of the confirmed and KARAOKE. There’s a $2 admission, kids 12 and under are free. They are all about reducing so if you can, bring your own reusable plates and cups, they will love ya for it.
