Weekend Wrap-Up, Dec 20-22, 2019


This is our last wrap-up of the year so we want to wish you and your family a fun and festive holiday season! We hope you get to enjoy some great quality time with those you love and have the happiest of new years. See you in 2020!

1. Head to Shubie this Friday or Saturday night! The Wildlife Park is hosting it’s 2nd Annual Night of Lights! Stroll through the glittering lights to the beat of festive music for a nocturnal visit with the animals. Bring a flashlight and a sense of adventure. Visit the Wetland Centre for face painting and crafts and enjoy some tasty treats. Admission is $5 per person and kids 5 and under are FREE. Event starts at 5.

2. Neptune Theatre has us feeling fabulously festive! Take the family to see the magical Peter Pan and get lost in a land of pirates, mischief and adventure. You’ll be whisked away with Wendy, Michael, and John to a musical Never-you-mind-land with none other than a mysterious flying boy dressed in green! Play along with a show-tune loving Captain Hook, peculiar pirates, and a posse of underdog ragtag kids. Playing until January 5. Show times are Tuesday – Friday, 7:30; Saturday and Sunday, 2 and 7:30. Tickets start at $30.

3. Shop Local at Square Roots Fairview/Clayton Park on Saturday. $10 for a 10lb bundle of fresh valley produce. Pick up is between 1- 2:30 at the Trinity Anglican Church, 321 Main Ave. You get to fill your bag with the items you want. Choose from apples, butternut squash, carrots, onions, parsnip, potatoes and turnip. Just in time for the holidays!

4. Last Market before Christmas! Head to the farmers market for farm fresh groceries and last minute holiday gift shopping. There’s tons of goodies to choose from. Free parking and admission. Saturday 8-1 at the Halifax Forum on Almon Street.
