1. It's time for the Seaport Market Incredible Picnic!  A local food street party with tasty treats from local chefs, producers, and Halifax Seaport Market vendors. Aside from getting the chance to sample delicious food there will be plenty of kids activities with food themed arts tables hosted by Ross Creek Centre for the Arts: Giuseppe Arcimboldo Portraits, Bean Mosaics, Foodie Placemats and Veggie Stamping! 2. Head to Memory Lane Heritage Village (Lake Charlotte) for the 9th Annual Atlantic Canada Harmonica Festival in beautiful Lake Charlotte on the Eastern Shore. This Festival is the only of its kind in Eastern Canada. It is a celebration of the harmonica and all who play it, regardless of musical preference of style! 3. Get out and run! The 26th Annual Navy 10K Run, hosted by the Canadian Forces Personnel Support Programs, is dedicated to the Royal Canadian Navy and to all Canadian Forces troops to show support for their hard work and efforts throughout the year. Last year there were over 1000 participants. The run is open to everyone. It includes a 5K race and a 2.5K kid's race to enable all levels of athletes and the entire family to participate. 4. It's time for the Clam Harbour Beach Sancastle Competition! It's held on a long, beautiful white sand beach within the HRM. Each year the Clam Harbour Beach Sandcastle Competition attracts hundreds of contestants and THOSUANDS of spectators. There will be entertainment and shuttle buses! 5. Calling all teen singers, songwriters or poets! Head to Alderney Gate Library for an afternoon of talent and expression with Open Mic Summer Edition! 6. Join Parks Canada at the Halifax Citadel as they celebrate Fab Forts weekend! The Halifax Citadel was originally built to protect a city, a culture, and a way of life- Fab Forts weekend is the opportunity for visitors to re-discover why the Halifax Citadel is so fabulous! You'll get to join a muster parade, build your own Fab Fort, visit the War of 1812 interactive encampment and get an authentic 1812 airbrushed tattoo available between 11am-4pm!
