  1. Laskavo prosīmo! Or “welcome” in Ukrainian and Halifax Ukrainian Dance wants you to! At Happy Soul Dance Studio on 3089 Oxford Street, your kids aged 5-16 are welcomes to Try Ukrainian Dance on Saturday from 2-3. It’ll be open house-style—no charge, drop in, previous experience is not necessary, and you don’t even need to be Ukrainian.
  2. Think your child may have anxiety and need some help? Don’t worry, there IS help, you just get yourself to New Minas this weekend. Bring the kids because this session, led by Clinical Social Worker, BriAnna Simons, is at Cotton Tale Café + Play where children nine months and up can play on a beautiful, wooden, indoor playground for $5. Worry: What’s Normal & When Your Child Could Use Some Help is this Saturday from 10-11. Take off right after breakfast and you’ll make it in time.   3. The Om Arts Collective is partnering with the Mi’kmaw Native Friendship Centre for a Free Inspirational Rock Painting Workshop at the Friendship Centre on Gottingen. It’s this Saturday from 1-2:30 and all are welcome! The Om Arts Collective is a non-profit that aims to provide free art workshops in efforts to raise awareness and support mental health in our community. The inspirational rocks can be a visual reminder of things that inspire us and bring joy into our lives. This workshop offers a safe and mindful space for individuals. There is no formal instruction given in this workshop, materials will be provided, and individuals are encouraged to explore and create without boundaries.
  4. Get ready for the ECMAs with a free concert at Sunnyside Mall with the final installation of the ECMA Lunchtime Concert Series this Friday! Andrew Frelick hits the stage outside Second Cup by the Pete’s Frootique at 11:30 and Emily Stuart is on at 12:30.
