1. Maritime Marionettes breathes life into an ageless folktale as magically as straw is spun into gold. Rumpelstiltskin is the tale of a poor miller's daughter who becomes trapped in her father's lie: that she can spin straw into gold. The 50-minute  performance on Saturday is filled with colour, magic and excitement; from the appearance of Rumpelstiltskin to his incredible demise. 2. There are 2 fantastic used-clothing and toys sales this weekend! From April 13-14 the Outgrow Outplay Kids Consignment sale at Soccer Nova Scotia (behind the Canada Games Centre) check out thiis huge space for great deals on clothing, strollers, toys and more!! The other is the big POMBA sale, a fundraiser sponsored by POMBA (parents of multiple births association). Newborn to size 14, baby equipment, toys, book, maternity! 3. Argyle Fine Art is delighted to host a very special MONSTER TIME on Satuday. Get comfy, grab a chair, browse some new art by Justin Lee from his exhibition, “Harold Hickenbottom and the Super Best Friend Monsters from under the Bed”; then beginning at 1:30pm, follow author Steve Vernon to our lower gallery with flashlights in tow, to read from his book “Maritime Monsters: A Field Guide”. The images of fuzzy monsters coming to life in the art by Justin Lee, makes for the perfect setting for story telling by Steve Vernon! 4. Using excerpts from our 25th anniversary production of the magnificent full length ballet Swan Lake, dancers from Ballet Jörgen Canada will give you an inside look at how ballet evokes emotions and tells a whole story without using words. Highly skilled, dancers communicate with body language, a language of movement that everyone connects with. Drop in to with the whole family to celebrate Ballet Jörgen Canada’s 25th anniversary with all things ballet – music, games, costumes and dancers.
