Brighter smiles, bunny hops, tasty treats, and seed bombs! That’s what this weekend has in store for the children of Halifax!
1. Mighty Bites at the Discovery Centre is something to sink your teeth into! On Saturday from 10-5, with special expert visits from Dalhousie University, the School of Dental Hygiene will be freshening up the Health Gallery with hands-on games and activities, answering your most biting questions about oral health in celebration of National Dental Hygienists Week. Meanwhile, in the Ocean Gallery, members of the Sharks of the Atlantic Research and Conservation Coalition (ShARCC) will be chatting about conservation science on Nova Scotia’s sharks, skates, and rays. The special activities and presentations are included in regular admission.
2. Easter spirit for sale by donation! All proceeds go to the Nova Scotia SPCA! All weekend the Easter Bunny will be hoppin’ on through the Halifax Shopping Centre! Have a visit and take a photo, 4×6 prints are available with a $5 donation.
3. Join in on FREE GELATO DAY in support of Mental Health NS! This Saturday, Humani-T is offering FREE gelato, from 2-8 in return for a donation to Mental Health Foundation of Nova Scotia. So, stop by 2755 Young St or 1451 South Park St and support their cause.
4. It’s Sunday Funday at Halifax Central Library! Head to Lindsay Children’s Room on the 2nd floor on Sunday to make seed bombs with the kiddos! They are made by packing clay, soil, and native wildflower seeds into a small ball and allowing them to dry. Just plant and watch them grow! Seed bombs are a quick and easy way to beautify a neighbourhood, park, or wilderness area. All materials are provided, it starts at 2:30, runs for an hour, and kids 4+ are welcome!
