Happy Canada Day!

Happy Canada Day! Bring on the red and white and get out to enjoy some of the many celebrations going on around town for our nation’s 152nd birthday!!!!

Winding through downtown Halifax and along Spring Garden Road, the Sobeys Tattoo Canada Day Parade kicks off at 10 outside the Scotiabank Centre on Monday (aka July 1st, aka Canada Day). After the parade, the Tattoo cast has just enough time to get ready for their first matinee performance at 2 at the Scotiabank Centre. Further Royal Nova Scotia International Tattoo performances will be held at 7 on the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th and at 2 on the 5th and 6th. Tickets start at $25.00 for children, adults and seniors. The Halifax Commons is going Canuck crazy with birthday celebrations all day! Have fun through dance at the Fuse Festival. From noon-5 see Flamenco, African, Irish, belly, and more dances, even take part in a Flash Mob!

From noon-8, bring on the Canada Day Family Fun Fest! Free events presented by Maple Lodge Farms, Tim Hortons, Fuse Festival, and the list goes on…Activities include but are not limited to interactive fun, science experiments, food trucks, face painting, bouncy castles, appearances by your favourite characters, and a K9 agility show! There will also be the return of the Atlantic Kite Festival and all their beautiful kites!

Bedford Days is lighting up DeWolf Park and other spots in Bedford. DeWolf Park is going to be full of fun all day Canada Day long starting with a free Pancake Breakfast at 9, a playground spectacular (tickets can be purchased on site), free entertainment with Tyler Key on the main stage from 11:30-1, a kid’s party from 1-3, further celebrations at 8 with more live music and a cirque performance, and because they can—because it’s THAT sort of birthday—super spectacular fireworks at 10!

Sackville Patriot Days begin on the 27 and run till Canada Day! If you live in the area (or want to take a little road trip) make sure you get out to enjoy the incredible line-up of family friendly events and entertainment that will ensure everyone has an awesome, fun-filled weekend.
