Art Gallery of Nova Scotia
The Art Gallery of Nova Scotia will be screening three short films by artist Kent Monkman in conjunction with the exhibition Shame and Prejudice: A Story of Resilience.
Throughout each film, Monkman’s alter-ego Miss Chief Eagle Testickle, exudes her sexuality to cleverly recast historical narratives and reconfigure versions of history to present an Indigenous perspective.
Following the screening, join the Gallery’s Indigenous Arts Programmer, Aiden Gillis, for a conversation about treaty relationships and misconceptions.
Films: Shooting Geronimo; Performance: Taxonomy of the European Male; Mary.
