Put on a pirate patch, head to the Halifax County Ex, make a robot and have fun at the party! It’s going to be a great weekend!

1. The Halifax County Exhibition in Middle Musquodoboit is country fun for everyone! Wednesday’s parade starts at 1 and the Ex continues with 4 fantastic days of family fun. Take in the Princess Pageant, experience the great rides on the midway, horse competitions, dairy and beef shows, truck pulls, live local music, scrumptious fair food, and don’t miss this year’s West Coast Lumberjack Show! Admission is $6 for adults and teens, seniors $5, kids (6-12) $2, and kids 6 and under are FREE. On Wednesday, the first day of the Ex, it’s Children’s Day! That means kids 12 and under get in FREE! Jump on the country bandwagon, because everyone is headed to 190 Exhibition Grounds Road in Middle Musquodoboit this week!

2.  This weekend, the pirates sail into Dartmouth with the annual Tallahassee Days Pirate Festival at Fisherman’s Cove. There are events all weekend long for the whole family… face painting, canon demonstration, dancing and the Sea of Lights Boat Parade through the narrows. Did we mention food? LOTS of FOOD! Come on down! the day starts at Noon with the ‘Pirates of the Crimson Knot’ firing off the noon day canon.

3. Have you heard about the Open Learning Centre this summer? It’s FREE! Explore the wide variety of infinite possibilities your child can do and imagine. From exploring STEAM concepts to just being yourself, it’s all under one roof!! Ages 5-12 welcome, 603-1526 Dresden Row, Monday – Friday until August 30.

4. Party at Sullivan’s Pond this Saturday! Deep Water Dartmouth & Feed Nova Scotia are bringing you the best party of the summer. Featuring a food drive (please bring a non-perishable food time), bouncy castle, games, BBQ and a whole lot more! Fun starts at 11 and runs until 3.
